In a statistical map, distance is defined in according to mathematical definitions of space and distance. In this map, the surnames of London citizens are located where they are most commonly found. The size of the names are also related to the magnitude of names located in that area. The color of the names represent the origin of the surname (English, Scottish, Welsh= light blue, dark blue, light green).
