Infrared Aerial Photo

Infrared aerial photo  film emulsion is sensitive to infrared spectrum and is  commonly used to produce color-infrared photos. IR imagery uses false color so that humans can better distinguish and monitor certain features. Sacramento river deep water ship channel shown above is easily distinguished from the land around it by the sharp contrast in tint that would otherwise not be as distinguishable (for example at night).
