Isoline maps convey numerical values for continuous distributions by means of lines joining
points of equal value (similar to how contour lines depict elevation for topographic maps). This map shows the temperature of air in Russia, and the slight degredation little by little into air temperatures of lesser value (colder temperatures as the lines move north) to which they merge- hence showing the continuum of the data.
